Woodford Mineral Rights​

The Woodford Shale extends into several counties, mostly in the Arkoma Basin of southeastern Oklahoma, but it also extends west into the Anadarko Basin and south into the Ardmore Basin. It was first produced in 1939 with vertical wells. Inspired by George P. Mitchell’s work in the Barnett Shale in the 1980s and 1990s, this tight gas shale has taken advantage of horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing to turn this source rock directly into a producing formation.
